CnC-Source "upload scripts" are secure, and the only FTP script is cnc-source's and its secure(by username n password, if user's group doens't have access rights they don't get in) and there location is not known to the public, the only way to gain unauthorised access is by FTP access its self, im currently wondering why "Gaming Source Admin" cleared every file in the main directory of cnc-source (them files were actualy part of the site, there was NO files uploaded, the only file that was changed was index.php). Since i don't have backups, it will proberly b about 5-10+ hours b4 cnc-source is back(when assassin comes online at about 1am GMT). Forums and the actual downloads were deleted, everything else seems fine.

CNC-Source's upload script was allowing users to upload files of any file extension. Therefore a group of script kiddies calling themselves "hackers" uploaded a PHP file giving them access to CNC-Source's server space without the need for a username or password. Said "hackers" removed some MySQL backups, the forums and edited the Index to one of their default pages claiming they had "hacked" CNC-Source. Currently waiting for Assassin (CNC-Source admin) to get back and sort the mess these script kiddies have left.

By definition they are hackers who did some hacking, from dictionary.com:

hacking:

The correct term is "crackers", not "hackers."
|
Actually both are correct, hacker only used to mean someone who was good with computers/writing code.
Then the popular media adopted the term to mean someone who breaks into computers, so the real hackers tried to distinguish themselves by calling the criminals crackers.
Some dictionaries now recognized both terms.

The only question is wheither they wrote the PHP scripts themselves or someone else did, the author of the scripts is a Cracker/Hacker.

They didn't use any skill to earn the title "Hacker" or "Cracker".
Just some stupid, macho rodents.
If they can really hack or crack, I am inviting them to hack my ass.

Script kiddies are the ones who don't figure out their own exploits. They just kiss the asses of other script kiddies or crackers who actually FIND the exploits and write scripts to exploit them. Script kiddies are the lowest form of internet criminal out there.
