Need Help, Cant install Renegade [message #58866]

Well, every time I try to install Renegade at exactly 15% compelet it stops and a few seconds later a message pops up saying "Renegade Setup Error: A file system error has been detected, please ensure that the Renegade Game CD-ROM is in the drive" I'v tried taking the cd out and putting it back in and hitting the "retry" button, I'v tried hitting the "retry" button over and over, I'v surfed the web high and low looking for some kind of help. I just got the game... the cd is spotless but it just wont install Crying or Very Sad

What are your comp specs??? I cant install it on my old computer because it sucks and wont even start upt he install just donsnt do shit.

Intel pentium 4 Processor 2.50 GHz
256MB DDR
40GB ATA Hard disk Drive
64MB Graphics card (Called "Intel Extreme Graphics" came with the comp.)
RealTek AC97 Audio

I went to the Renegade Westwood website, and had it check my computer to see if it could run the game and it said I was over 4,000% above the minimum requirements. I also tried that alternet installer, but that only brought new problems. Sad

I had this simular problem once a loong time ago on my P3 system.

Are you installing from a CDRW drive?
Because thats where my Ren-setup crashed all the time too. Until i put it in my DVD-rom and used that to install it worked Smile

Maybe wise to install Nero 6 and set the drive speed to 12x or something instead of the maximum speed, this usually improves stability too.
