I don't think they would lanch it at them selves. That stratigicly is a very bad desion.
Now, they may just be bluffing, and have no intention of ever lanching them, but if they were to launch them, it would be at the US, or at US intrests.

Umm if you could read I wouldnt have to repeat this. Read the psot above me. He doesnt udnerstand the nuclear deterent by owning them. He is saying the US is stupid for dong that. Now I responded well the uS will be the last to disarm becuase we wont use them unless someone esle does. And if noone has them then we dont need them. But if the US did not have them and all the bad countries did we would be screwed. Please read shit before making stupid comments.

No, all you said was that we'd be screwed if (in addition to those other countries) Russia or China had nuclear weapons. Which has nothing to do with what Blazer said.

I hate the whole bluffing/MAD/deterrent thing. Yeah lets build nukes so nobody will mess with us! Just the idea of spending millions of dollars and manhours building weapons that you never plan to use, is just dumb. Any advanced alien civilization that looked at how barbaric and plain stupid the human race is would just sit back and LOL. I'm all for defending our country, and other countries defending themselves, but stockpiling enough nukes to blow up the planet 300x over is just silly, and invites disaster. One of these days there will be a computer glitch or something, and everyone gets owned.

There is no such thing as a sucky nuclear weapon...
Although it would be nice if North Korea had NO nuclear devices instead of two...I wouldn't trust that crazy dictator with anything more dangerous than a moldy pot roast...and here goes the U.S. and invades Iraq because there are supposedly "Weapons of Mass Destruction" [A phrase the Bush administration has thrown around waaay too much these days...] in the country...At least it would have been worth our while to invade North Korea...considering the fact that NO "Weapons of Mass Destruction" have been found in Iraq, [I will bet my soul that the Bush administration finds "Weapons of Mass Destruction" right before the election] even though conservative talk shows always say they have. One time a U.S. reporter or someone of the sort found anthrax antidote in a hospital and published a huge story about how the army was hot on the tail of "Weapons of Mass Destruction". Now, I would be inclined to believe this story if not for the fact that ALMOST EVERY HOSPITAL HAS ANTIDOTES FOR ANTHRAX, ESPECIALLY SO NOWADAYS!!!!.

Well, a lot of the pressure to build nuclear weapons started in the 50s, mainly because Russia and the U.S.A. started building humoungous amounts. Then everyone started feeling insecure without "The Big One", and it just started snowballing...
Even though the U.S. and Russia still have by far the largest nuclear arsenals, they have made great strides in reducing those numbers.

N. Korea's nuclear program apparently *is* working for them. The US doesn't even think of invading them, and they have quite a good negotiation position now. That's why countries want nukes, because it does pay off when you finally have them.
