Im getting my labtop today with the wireless router and PCI card. I was told I wouldnt need an extra PCI card for my desktop....that I could just hook the router up to the desktop with a ethernet cord thing (the big looking telephone line thinggy)....so do I need that second one or no? Because I would like to know before I go Thanks in advance! THANKS! Smile

LOL, I believe he just did. If you have a wireless router then no. You will need an Ethernet cable from modem to router. Another cable from router to NIC on your desktop. I would have another cable to go from router to the laptop as this is more secure 1337 and most likely faster. Don't let anyone tell you that the line between the cable modem and router HAS TO BE Parallel, and the one from NIC to router HAS TO be crossover. It's SUPPOSED to be but it will work either way.
