Okay, I uninstalled Renegade a long time ago because I was havin some problems. I've been playing Quake III (okay, laugh at me) ever since... but a few days ago, I wanted to get back into the Renegade game.
So I tried installing the game
IT KEPT FREEZING WHEN IT CAME TO THE "INSTALLING" PART
A couple of tries later, I get the damn thing to install.
But when I try to play the game, I find that the startup cinema (the one that's zooming around havoc and there's tanks everywhere) is all choppy and not at all fluid and smooth.
So when I try to play some multiplayer action (I install the patch), I get into the game, but in two seconds, the game completely freezes. No mouse, I can't ctrl + esc or alt + F4 or even ctrl + alt + del out of it!
I am forced to restart. This happens every time.
I took the stupid renegade compatibility test on Westwood.Com and it told me my computer was over 240% compatible with renegade.
I don't see what the problem is. I have a Radeon and a very fast CPU.
Can someone tell me what the heck is going on!?

Without digging too deep, it sounds like a memory problem. How much memory do you have?
Also, do you have a firewall and antivirus program? Silly question, but you never know. Sometimes you get infected with something and it will eat up your memory like there's no tomorrow.
