The problem is not with the fan speed INCREASING, it's with the fan not working at all and causing the GPU to overheat and possibly destroying the card.

So 3 days after they recall the drivers is a week late? Do you actually know how long a week is?

Honestly, the trolls on this forum are pathetic, flaming people simply because they posted some information which might be useful for some forum users. Get a life. Just because you already knew about it doesn't mean everyone did, NVIDIA are hardly going out of their way to tell everyone they fucked up.

Also it is a good warning to roll back your drivers if you have the new ones... Like Omar said he had gotten them, now he is aware of the potential problems.

So this is actaully one of the most productive topics archerman has started. Rocked Over

Well I am sure I don't know as much about computers as you Omar, but is that really a risk you wanna take to keep running them? I don't know that the chances are of frying your card...

It is a risk indeed but i have still warranty on it anyway Big Grin

I cant rollback though. I have to reinstall it xD. My previous version was pretty old already so newer games fail :V

Reinstalling the previous version in a minute though Thumbs Up
It can still fail and i dont want a fried card, even with warranty Huh

Its not even that much work Razz

Yeah if you have an older card like the 8000 series, who cares about the risk. If it dies and you have a life time warranty you'll probably get upgraded to a gtx 260. If you don't mind the hassle that is.

Silly timing for nvidia with the launch of Fermi weeks away.

Damn it was freaking hard to uninstall.

Im running W7 and while installing the driver it stops with a black screen and while uninstalling it does too.
Though when you just wait a while while installing and then hardboot it is installed. It wont uninstall though and the uninstaller gets corrupted (wont start anymore) so i had to go into savemode and use drivesweeper, then install again and hardboot on black screen Huh

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA*deep breath*AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

nVidia *gasp* overheating *chortle* issues? *snicker* naw, never would have expected it... *giggle*

Welcome to two years ago. Lovely that their software team seems to be getting nostalgic for the good 'ol days.

Still waiting on that "sorry we sent defective products out to the entire market, now let us make it right." I'll just take this new 'whoopsie' as further reason to continue boycotting.
