I know it's possible to have a mine on a vehicle.. but what about placing a nuke becon on one? then driving up to the base.... ahem and.. ahem... well, BOOOOM!!

Is it possible?

No. The beacon won't stick to the vehicle, it'll just float in mid-air when you drive off.

You can't drop it from a peak. The beacon is placed on your exact coordinates - even if that means it will be floating in the air. If your coordinates change, you will stop placing it (as you know). Once it is placed, it's locked in that place.
