The stealth blackhand w/ nuke is a popular tactic, but a smart GDI team will have at least 2 engies/hotwires patrolling the base. And have prox. mines placed all over the pedestal

Yeah, but a clever stealth never enters a building and guards his beacon.

You are talking to an expert using Stealth Nuke Tactic. You never enter a building and nuke them. You place them outside and guard them. Especially for War fact, refinery and power plant.

Er guys i need to clear up something..

Pls refer to the other similiar topic on this, there is more details on how i pull it off.

Why i don nuke the building from outside is explained there.

I never nuke/ion building from inside. The only time I ever enter an enemy building is if I'm a tech/hotwire, going in to clear out some engys so my team can blow the structure, or on the rare occasion that I feel like putting my beacon on the pedastal. I also only do this if there are no mines there.

It is much easier to defend a beacon on the outside than in. Plus you can distract people easier.

I disagree with this "never nuke/ion the inside of a structure". I believe most people are expecting them to be on the outside, so therefore it is strategically better to do this on the inside, in a corner, esp. in the refinery. Also, vehicles can also attack you while you are defending a nuke that is placed on the outside, while on the inside you are limited to infantry. Just earlier today I planted a nuke with my stealth guy on the inside of the refinery, and as I watched, 3 hotwires passed right by me and to the back of the refinery. I successfully destroyed the refinery, and stumped the GDI team.
In conclusion, don't discard strategies because they may seem to be unlogical. It may just be the opposite.

ok, first in a lot of cases outside nukes are not as good as you think
everybody searches the outsides first, therefore making it REALLY hard to protect if a hotwire and a tank come into play... which they usually do
some building there are better places to put em, i think i posted it on another topic
anywayz, the best advice i can give for stages with no towers is this:
before planting ur nuke with your stealth troop (makes it easier), or any other troop,
go into an adjacent building (say refinery)and drop off your timed mine on the mct...
then walk back to the nuke target (say barracks) and start dropping the nuke bout 10 secs later... this way when they hear refinery under attack and then nuclear strike beacon deeployed, theyll go to the refinery thinking that the guy that dropped the nuke is there... buying you very... VERY valuable time
and if you think it doesnt work... give it a try

But when i place a beacon OUTSIDE it never fully destroys it even if it is very close, the building does go down to red of course, any tips?

It will be destroyed if you put the Beacon as close to the building as possible.

@ Raveshaw: When you place the beacon inside, anybody respawning will find it immediately, thats the point.

I agree completely. an Ion Cannon beacan is almost impossible to see in the corner of a hand of nod, especially when the power is out.

I only put a beacon inside a building once and it's on Pedastal. In that one the GDI barrack was already destoryed so I have no problem get into the barrack and no one noticed me. I put the beacon down and hide in the corner and wait for any eng or hotwire to come. One guy respawn right next to the MCT and I killed him. A eng rushed in try to disarm the beacon and I killed him too. Then the nuke came took me out and two other guys and Nod win. So beacon is only worth placing inside a building is to end the game. Placing next to the wall on the outside do the same job.

I like Raveshaw's tactic of planting the timed c4 distraction, very sneaky

i usually
buy a stealth guy
nuke beacon
head for there base

place it OUTSIDE of the buuilding
never try to risk going in b/c
they will probly have mines

anyways u deploy it and i always throw down my c4
back up but stay close
then if they find it kill them ..
works everytime for me

I agree....but the purpous of playing a game is to win...and if ya tell all your Tactics.. others will learn your tactics and make them harder to deploy,,, IMHO

I try to.. when I can find good servers..
and I like to win also... (its more fun to win) but I like the fact of just playing..
when like I said I can find good servers ..
and on a team that actually plays as a team instead of a bunch of ppl running around like chickens with there heads cut off
(leaving the base un-defended).,,

i agree with you
winning is more fun lol
but i really do not mind to lose
i do hate it when i lose actually
but it doesnt bother me
and i also like a good team who plans out there tactics
and works as a team
instead of everything being like a FFA

I know some games are limited to time so planning a long strategic strike is impossible but the basic common sense does help ,and some that play,, only play for themselves,,,I figure without a base or means to buy weapons is fruitless,,and I find myself in this situation quite alot ,,
but I still like to play...win or lose..

When placing a nuke/ion becon you should find a place that is dark, or an area that is concealed either on the outside or inside.
It can still destroy a building if you put it very close to it, if you are good you can get in the base without anyone noticing and then you won't have tanks shooting you.
Also there is a better way of placing the timed C4, but I wont tell you cause if I play a game with one of you in it you'll foil my plans.
You proberly already know what I'm talking about, but to those who don't (and there are many)...your in for frustrating times.
