I think this topic has come to an end. One advice though, Sadukar: if a server had a vehicle limit of 7 and all get a vehicle and put remotes on it to blow it if stolen, then there would be almost no mines left to mine the base.

Edit: I used to play on a server that didn't use any "modern" Renegade server mod. It was basically the vanilla renegade with a custom command bot that was essentially used only for things like showing rankings and such. I remember there where two different limits for Remote and Proxy on that server. In fact that was the server were I learned there was a difference in mines.

so blackhole was much closer to the mark than you were, sadukar... if there are 7 vehicles, let's say a mix of APCs a med tanks which would require 3 remotes each to be sure of destroying if they were stolen, that's about 25 or so.

While it's true remotes and proxies are under the same limit in vanilla Renegade, I don't see him mentioning anywhere in that post that it was directed at him failing at "vanilla Renegade".
If there IS a seperate mine limit, I'd actually probably have a few mines on my vehicle, get out of it, wait for someone to take it, BOOM. Free points.
Unless it's a marathon server. In which case, you're screwed.

No, that isn't true.
It is because all the servers with people on them use these changes.
And people don't play those servers because of the changes, they play because other people are on them. One server probably has a few officials who would go onto it and wait for other people to join. The only reason those other people join is because there is so little people playing Renegade that they join that server just because of the few official people playing it, regardless of what bot the server runs or the mine limit they set up.
