I've always wondered how the fuck Easter came to be associated with finding eggs and rabbits. Anyone know why?

(In before South Park references, etc.)

The church bells would be silent from Good Friday until Easter Sunday. This was to symbolise them leaving to Rome and coming back or something like that. I suppose that afterwards it was added that the bells came back from Rome, leaving chocolate eggs on their way which the children then went to search.

This isn't any info I found on the web, it's the way I understood it.

I was told that the egg symbolizes the boulder which the women rolled away when they went to Jesus's tomb and found him gone. But it seems there are many ideas.

I too was going to say the symbolisation of rebirth.

Happy Easter Everyone

I'm just up, had half of an egg my lad didnt want Very Happy

later on I'm working, only off friday and tuesday next... Sad

but i don't start until 4 so not so bad.

Pagan god Eastrè was a rabbit apparently.

Easter is just getting like Christmas, meaning people just buy stuff and give away presents. Eat them selfs till they drop. Company's makeing huge profit. I don't want to be part of this group. Leaving out the true reason of easter. Not that I am celebrating that anyways.
