Try setting colour depth to 32 bit instead of 16 bit, it will look better and modern graphics cards are more likely to be optimised for that.

Turn on Anti-Aliasing via BHS.dll Options, and set it to 2xMSAA and I can assure you you'll notice a huge fps increase.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

I found out my graphics card can handle HDR, HDR MAN, HDR! LOL.

nah, AA does something weird and well.. makes the game look better and gives you more fps. Surprised

What FPS are you hoping to achieve with that card? What is your definition of CoD4/Crysis running good with that card? What is CoD4's graphics, texture, AA and AS settings?

Granted, Renegade should not be lagging with that card as it should be within it's range. But turn off AA and AS in Renegade, it does not give you a FPS increase, in fact it does the opposite, drops me from 130 FPS to around 90 FPS. AA/AS and color depth adds in extra rendering, I don't know how you can say it's giving you better FPS when your GPU's need to render a little more Dont Get It

NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
Core Clock: 450 MHz
Memory Clock: 1320 MHz
Memory: 256 MB GDDR3
Memory interface: 256-bit

Only thing I would suggest is you update your graphics card drivers and hope that fixes it. Also, make sure you also have Vsync turned off using the BHS.dll options. 256MB of vram should be more then enough to run Renegade at 1024x768 on high. Little concerned about you saying CoD4 runs good on it though, let alone Crysis. That card is way low end and below each games minimum specs.

If updating your drivers doesn't help, set the games setting to low, and crank up the individual graphics options slowly and try to gauge where you can run the game with decent performance at. If your dropping below 30 FPS in a huge fight, take the settings down.

Actually, Renegade is more likely to be limited by his CPU than the graphics card.

Is that process eating 99% time the system idle one? If it isn't, your CPU time is being eaten by something other than Ren, which will slow it down LOADS.

You have the graphics maxed out...of course you are getting lower FPS.

Set some of the settings lower and try again.

7900 is not a high end card, if anything, it is entry level

7900 series goes GTX > GT > GS. They recently done that with the 8800 series as well, released a 8800GS trying to keep ATI down. Cheaper card, little less performance then GT. It's how nVidia roll.

For future reference, when you are buying a new card, check the specs first, fill rate, clock speed, vram size etc. nVidia website has a good comparison page showing you where each card measures up.

I have a 7900GS and it is more then capable of playing Renegade at the highest resolution possible with full graphics on.

I currently play at 1440@900 with all the graphics options maxxed out including the AA settings in BHS.dll. I get a solid 60FPS no matter how big of a server I am in.

I don't know where you got the idea that its an entry level card.

Because in the whole scale of the 7900 series cards released (Let alone it's not exactly a new series), it's the cheapest for it's specs?

http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_7900.html

GS is, and always has been the entry level card. GTS best bang for buck, GTX and Ultra high end.

But as I said before, even as it's low end. It should be more then enough to run Renegade as the specs hes chosen. So something is obviously wrong.

Exactly, Renegade is very CPU dependant. I ran a Core 2 Qaud Q6600
with a Geforce 2 MMX 400PCI. (Low settings obviously) 75 fps in a 40 player server even in tank rushes, and so on.

I could point out a few more situations, and I really think the CPU is the bottleneck here, as he has XP2400 from what I see in the screenshot and that CPU has 256cache, combined with the old XP architecture.

Graphics card power will start to matter when you start running things on higher detail in Renegade. The more players and action ( the faster CPU you will need ).

Yeah bullshit it does. When you alt tab out the games run in background mode and doesn't process anything. Put the game in windowed mode and load up taskman before you load run. The bar will be at 100%

Well Recon,

When you where over at Renz0r you have asked me and Reck this a dozen time.
I remember in the old days we had the same pc's or nearly.

Oh the good old FX 5200 we had the same one.

Only you bought different types and brands of ram and such.

We nearly had the same pc's as I remember the same cpu, ram, videocard.

Only you sufferd from fps lag.

Then you bought a new motherboard. Vidcard and such.

Lets make a buy list ->
Geforce 6200 80euro
Geforce 7900 cs 139 euro
Motherboard 100 euro
RAM 70 euro?

Yes you bought a lot of pc parts Already 2 crappy videocards.
You are probably buying a third one.

Well You have did numeroes of updates and mostly buying the lowest junk there is. You have wasted around 400 euro's

We told you a numuroes times to save up money and buy a new system or at least good parts. But you seemed never to listend.
So after wasting money you wasted our time and you, you are going to do it here?

I know you where so jealos at me. Oke I got some money of my parents but I did save up 1000 euro to buy a better than standard pc.

Anyways I can host up 20 renegade with 60 fps. I can do it windowed also. Anyways a little screenie. (more then twenty then my fps will lower)

Just cloning myself in Ungys server Im all of those players except a few.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g161/BrianOcho/ScreenShot474.png

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g161/BrianOcho/ScreenShot475.png

Well lets see. See saving up money works to buy a new pc. Even with that 1000 euro's I could buy a better system than you have now.

-conclusion for Recon-

Step 1.
Save up money

Step 2.
REALLY save it up

Step 3.
Plan how much money you can get

Step 4.
Plan your goal system / price

Step 5.
Dont bother other people with it, you just dont listen. The same happend over at Renz0r. We even made lists of what you could buy.

Step 6.
NONONO dont buy that crappy vidcard Save up your money!!!

Step 7.
Seek a different PC shop than n00baroundthecorner

Step 8.
Finally wait a year with your money

Step 9.
Buy your system and now you can p00n with it.

Yer Old Lost Bud Reaver

Then why are you asking for a fps fix?

You cant fix crappy stuff, crappy stuff will remain crappy stuff.
You had this bug before this videocard.

A good pc is not cheap, I would place a vacation also above a new pc. Especially a friend above the pc.

But first your re-read the post. You wasted 400 Euro's mayby even more. -> 60x52 = 3120 euro for drinks and such. Well I think that is high placed. (you mentioned this 60 yourself)

Lets say you go out for 20 bucks a day that makes 40 a week
40x52=2080 euro lets say you only go out once a week -> 1040 euro

You save up 1040 euro!!! Or more if you drink less.

Common we did this before and you just dont listen.

About that Yer Old Bud. Well cant you think why I type that?

Summary ->

You stole the renz0r domain.
You called me a backtalker.
You hacked the Renz0r staff forums thinking it was full with posts about you.
You werent allowing Reckneya and me to have a private chat, you where always in the understanding we where going to talk about you. (I must admit in some casses we needed to talk over you especially in at the end)
You posted false advertisements of the nitro mod.
You make advertisements about your maps and that they would be in the nitro.
You are now trying to be a concurent of Renz0r.
You where making a map and tried to shove it of yourself that I would fix it. Jeez man the Reborn mod is lucky to have you as mapper.
You posted fake and wrong screenies of the nitro mod how could i be nice for that, you even didnt tell me you where advertising about it.
You are not a sportif loser.

The biggest reason of those is -> You where making a map and tried to shove it of yourself that I would fix it.

You made a map hmmz It think it was called C&C_Moarth.
I agreed to help you on the shrine and communications center.

You thought after some time, well now it is ready. It wasnt I bet you didnt even look in the map.

You had no pcts in the commcenter it was even not welled correctly in the map you covered it with sandbags which are visible inside the commcenter.
You could drive over the shrine of nod with a buggy
You could walk of the bottom of the map.
You could jump out of the barracks so you died in blue hell
The Middle of the map was barren/deserted/empty check back in the post you posted on this forums.
You claimed that Level-edit crashed so you couldnt make the building controller.

How hard is it to make a building controller Temp another one and add in the part of meshprefix mshn^

How can I finish parts of that map if you arent finished? Your Renx work wasnt over, you were merly started. First finish Renx and then continue to LE and then I would help you on a few parts and not fixing the map?

Then you said in a e-mail to Reckneya -> Hey Reaver didnt finish things also.

The thing I didnt finish was 'your' map.

Hey, wait a sec YOUR map that means you have got to fix the most of it not ME!

The only thing that map had was well it looked pretty good. The water was good and the sand had a nice touch.

But the gameply Renx? Teamed humvees? Teamed Buggys?

I thought it was going to be an infantry map.

You dont listen to me!!! How should I call that a friend?

Oh wait I got a better one. We were on the renz0r ts + Reckneya to.

You said: -> Well it is impossible to have/make friends over the internet.

Mayby it is for you.

And from that day I was never your friend you claimed it yourself.

Well and then some more I remember days we where playing Command and conquer 1. After each game you were so pissed because you could never win. Even when you catured my conyard you couldnt win.

You where always so pissed. I remember talking over this to Reckneya.

What Reck said wasnt surprising -> He mentioned that you where yelling about me and such after each game.

Well be sportif would you, and dont be a lame backstalker.
You never won in cnc1.

Antoher nice example, you bought css for me because I finished school, this is actually the bestest you ever did for me and Im grateful for that. I will never orget this.

Only in most games it went out different. I remember a gungame match we had on our very own server. We were both in ts. I was leading in the game i was at the supershotung or whatever the name is.

You kept walking infront of me trying to get some kills eventually this ended up me in killing you. I lost a level. The you mister smarty pants thought hmzzz a friend killed me. A what the matter just kill him.

nice and sportif Recon

I left that game you discoverd it pretty late and couldnt find of a reason.

There you have it a whole story about you as main character.

So instead of posting a question think within yourself why someone would think that.

Wasnt there anything inside you that knew or could think of why I would post -> Yer Old Bud Reaver

I do not hate, it is possible te become friends again only I doubt you can make it. For the simple reason you just bent the truth that your story is correct.

You can never see more than your own truth. You cant even look farther than your own nose.

Next time try to think of what will happen when you do an action.

Mayby we meet in better times but for now, think what you have done wrong think within yourself and go at once to the other person claiming he or she is wrong.

Just as you did in the other posts on this forum.

I know you good enough that you will just scroll down to the end.
It is sad that i have to type this out for you and that you cant think of this yourself.

I hope you think very deep inside youself about yourself.

We had nice times and bad times. The trouble is that you cant review your bad moments which makes friendship impossible.

And read the compleet reply.
Not just this little bottom with my name.

Now goodby Recon,

Yer Old Bud Reaver
