Buy a CRT-monitor (if you can find one). They still outperform flatscreens.

This topic may also be valuable for you if you do decide to go for flat screen.

Piffle, I'd rather have my LCD over my CRT anyday. It uses about a tenth of the space, is 50% bigger (19" compared to 15") and seems much easier to read in my opinion.
The only downside in my opinion is that LCD screens need a lot of antialiasing to look really good, while CRT screens seem to be fuzzy anyway.
But if you're using a high-end PC, that isn't a problem.

I wish I had 2 flat screen monitors. Running a dual monitor configuration with 2 CRT monitors is not that nice when it comes to desk space.

i pointed out that its not the monitor. if anything, to do with the monitor, its the computer changing its config to suit it.
