I've been going through a lot of ways to promote activity at my online forum. It's a big one, 1000 members, loads of activity, etc.
I remember when I was the leader of a clan (-EVA-) we decided to get our own forum to talk with other. With this I had much problems. The stupid forum took so much effort we barely playing. It took a lot of time and half of my clan always wanted to promote the forum, change it, design it better, etc. It took a lot of playing away from us.
Yes, our clan flopped because we all turned against each other after someone wanted to be the forum admin and someone else wanted to be the clan leader. And even after all of the work it wasn't active at all. One big waste of time.
Years later I've moved on from clans and decided to be a forum admin and make websites n' stuff.
Now I got Echo Earthquake which is a very high profile invisionfree forum.
the deal I am offered
Just in case you want to concentrate on the gamming and not worry about forum management etc. Echo Earthquake is now accepting Hosted clans to have their very own place at Echo.
Here's how it works:
There's a "hosted by EEQ" forum on the main forum.
Inside there is the hosted forums. There will be probably about 7 to 10 eventually there. one of them is your hosted area.
Now inside that you choose exactly what forums you want inside for your own area. You can choose up to 10 forums of what you want. Those forums are your own area. You may welcome the community of Echo Earthquake, or you may want it private. The choice is yours as the clan leader will have full moderation powers within that area. Also, you just need to get one of the many free url shortening sites to get a url of your choice and make it go directly to your area.
good things about this deal
You don't have to worry about all of the troubles of having your own forum so you can focus on why your really with your frineds. Also, once you sign up to EEQ you are under the protection of our Staff. EEQ has been around for years and is one of the highest invisionfree Google pageranked forums in the world.If you really wanted a change for getting a lot of activity and publicity this is the best way. Sometimes when it's late it's pretty quiet but Echo has a definate storm of activity sweeping through it.
Bad things
In a way it's not your own. You can do what you want, mod your area however you'd like, but you are not free to break the rules of invisionfree by having porn, hacking, and talking about stealing programs. Basically all of the rules that you should follow anyway.
Also, if you need to change any forums you'd have to pm me to change it if it requires admin cp, and if you want people banned, or warned, then you would have to pm myself or my VIP Communications Manager. We will instanty do as you wish.
-your people would be Echo people as well becuase they would have to join the forum to be in your area (however if you choose to be private there will be a special user group to put all of your crew in so only you guys can see your area.
Anyway, I'm done yabbering. I'm looking for 6 to 10 hosted clans.
