He resigned after admitting guilty to bribery before he was even investigated by the House Ethics Committee.

It feels good to know that we have House Congressmen willing to sell themselves to companies in exchange for defense contracts.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Funny that you described his political party first instead of saying "Crooked House Member Resigns".

is he getting jail time?

Is that unbiased enough for you?

I just found it interesting that you would rather depict him by his party rather than his position is all.

Do you know if he's getting jail time? he should...

The article that I suppose you couldn't be bothered to read

Cunningham had already said he would not seek re-election in 2006. He will be sentenced on February 27 when he faces up to 10 years in prison.

So what's your point here... All Republicans are corrupt? I'm sure you know where that line of logic leads, and it's not to sensible thinking.

Go put your tin foil hat on and shut the fuck up already. 14 year old kids that have their head up their ass should be spending their time studying instead of worrying about a political process they obviously know nothing about.

Republicans give lots of money to their corporate buddies, Democrats give lots of money to the poor. Not much difference... neither group works all that hard for it.

I'm the bawss.

I'm not "suggesting" anything other than this man is quite awful for selling defense contracts.

Crimson: Do the poor bribe Democrats?

Votes my liberal friend. Money doesn't buy you a spot in office all the time.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. They bribe with votes. It's very easy... give people money so they will vote for you so you can give them more money so they continue to vote for you.

I'm the bawss.

Bribes don't have to be in the traditional form either,

Tax cuts, "prosperity cheques", Rebates, etc. All work towards creating the illusion that the government is a good one, so why not keep them in power?
