I recieve the following error message when I try to open renegade: Failure to recieve list of master servers. check your internet connection. Then it will close. I have uninstalled and reinstalled renguard and checked everything I can think of on my internet connections and everything looks fine. I just started recieving this message today.
Please respond if you think you can help, Thank you very much.

Are you referring to Renegade or RenGuard? If you are referring to RenGuard, then this is in the wrong forum (mods, please move it).

Have you recently changed the settings of or upgraded a firewall?

I haven't change any of the setting to it, and I checked the firewall and Renegade is still listed as an exception.

On your exceptions area, is just one listing for 'Renegade' checked? There should be two. One for game.exe (Renguard) and game2.exe (Renegade!).

Try disabling your firewall. If it still won't retrive the server list then it isn't your firewall causing the problem. maybe an antivirus utility that is on without your knowing (they have a bad habit of running in the background).

I have 3 renegade and one renrem and they are all checked, and I have disabled my antivirus and still get the same message

Hey this is really odd, I just went to play tonight and I have exactly the same problem. 2 renegades in the firewall exceptions, both checked, can connect to renguard fine (even when they weren't checked) but can't get the server list in the game. Was playing fine yesterday...

same here!! Cannot find server. I did not change anything, and all boxes are checked for my firewall.

Renegade finally gone, or are people still getting on. when they switched to XSIS did profiles not get transfered??

Right now WOL has been messing up for a while. They have just brought it back up tonight about 10 P.M. Eastern Time. It's just you have to wait to see if you can actually get on the servers.

yeah, I finally got to the server list last night.

Problem: There were no servers. Nothing under the list.
Oh well, try again later, XSIS is doing a wonderful job.

Yea I figured it was a problem with WOL...well the thread starter's question is about a problem with Renguard, not Renegade, I just realised...oops.

Yes XWIS are actually doing a wonderfull job imo. You cant expect transfers to happen immediatly. Its for the best so be happy about it. If all things go well then the BHS team will have more say over the whole new system with XWIS. EA are changing, its un-nerving.
