If you go to options, then multiplay thier is an option to filter out bad language. I'm curious as I don't think it works because I typed fuck and other words in f2 chat but they weren't censored.

Is thier a way to enable this?
I think the best way to handle the language policy on our servers is to tell the client to enable bad language filter (Assuming it works)

yeah, good idea. instead of stopping people from typing words, maybe people that don't like it should activate the filter..

I posted that in "the pits" a long while ago, but their solution to the problem was "we'd rather not allow you to swear, even if you can make the conscious choice not to read it.:

Some people are more offended by swearing than others. This could make them happy and stop these people from going "WATCH LANG PLZZ!1!"

Yeah, it would be a good feature to implement. Censorship sucks, but then again so does a 7 year old reading "Give me back my tank you fucking twat." So, a client side optional swear filter would be ideal.

I dont know if anyone remembers the Men of God server but that used to have a autokick function in that whenever anyone swore it qkicked them, so its at least possible.

That's server side. We're talking about a client side option. Smile

A client side fix would be great. Though I don't think that should diminish the server-side's option to kick people who swear. I mean come on, grow a brain and figure out how to say things in a way that don't involve the use of foul language.

Heck, If I've been able to avoid foul language for 22 years, it shouldn't be hard for others to learn other forms of expression.

That's something we could look into... I'm sure it won't catch the "workarounds" like "$hit" or "fuk", but it would be much better for gamers who don't wish to see that language block it on their end instead of those of us who wish to communicate with those words having to suffer.

I'm the bawss.

I like my freedom of speech and swear all I like. I'm not one of those who goes "shut the fuck up you stupid piece of shit mother fucker", but I do like the ability to give more emphasis to my statement by using a rightly placed curse.

whoa.
