Within the last few months, I have developed a new problem with Renegade and I wonder if it is Renguard-related.
I launch renegade which launches renguard,
I establish a secure connection to a renguard server.
I launch the renegade program from renguard menu.
Renegade loads.
I log in and cannot get a server listing.
"Operation Timed Out" is all I get. If I keep trying to get a server listing I will indeed get one, but no matter which server I try to join I get a "VERSION MISMATCH" error.
I must then back all the way out of renguard and start again. Always with the same results. Time always fixes it, the next day or several hours later it all works fine.
Several things make me believe this might be renguard related.
First, this strange problem began roughly the same time I started using renguard.
Second, in IRC the only people who seem to be having the same trouble are players who launch renegade through renguard.
Third, Since I cannot even get to the server listings, and when I do ALL servers are unavailable to me, I do not think this is Pits specific Since this does not affect all players, I do not think this is Westwood specific.
I have thought about uninstalling Renguard and testing to see if my problem persists, but before I do anything that drastic, I thought I would check here and see if this is a "Known Problem" and if you have any advice.

RenGuard does not interact with renegade's operation in anyway.
So, no. It's just a program running along side with renegade.

hey gizbotvas.
run c:\westwood\renegade\game2.exe from the run menu and see if the problem persists there. if it doesn't it has to have something to do with renguard.
