Yeah, I saw an article a year ago in some sort of computer gamer magazine, where they were firguring out how to make They had all this top of the line stuff, but the projector was something awesome that I had never seen before. Anyway, nice projector. A 19-inch CRT cuts it for me, though.

I thought about doing that a while ago...

But it's a good idea. Definately beats thousands of dollars for a big/high-res/fast refresh rate monitor.

Whats the refresh rate on that?

I'm not sure what it is. But the resolution will go up to 1600x1200, because that is what my video card limits.

Did you put your resolution to its maximum setting?

Although, I hear that television runs at 640x480, but with some special frame blending thing or something like that...

Yes, TV's are 640 x 480.

Thats why you can buy a large TV much cheaper than a monitor that supports much higher resolutions.

i can't personally beat a 7 ft. monitor, but the people that live in the top floor of my dorm can, and they do it on a regular basis (i.e. at least once a month, except during the winter).

they hook a pc or a nintendo up to a projector, go out onto the fire escape, and play video games on the outside wall of the adjacent building. so they're using a screen that's probably at least 50 ft. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy (they also do that sometimes to watch porn)

oh, and of course, they hook it up to a massive sound system too so you can watch and listen from a couple hundred feet away.

(gotta love MIT people....)

Ya it is awesome what you can do with these. Once school ends I plan on having movie nights. Hooking up in our front yard and projecting it onto our garage. And anyone that wants to come watch can.
