i have used both fraps and snagit but the make my fps drop like a rock. any know of a good recording program that doesnt make your fps crap when recording?

Anything that records live will do that to you, unless it's S-Video or something coming out of your video card itself, which you would feed into a VCR to play back into your computer... Then generate that into an AVI file.

I'd take the FPS drop over the hassle of S-Video and whatnot. Especially since my FPS drops to whatever I specified it to be. I can deal with 30 FPS.

Pfft, same with me, my fps goes down to like 4.

But I have a crappy P3 700mhz, Geforce 2

I use S-Video output to my TV, which I can subsequently record from with a digital camcorder, then upload to the PC.

The hardware costs a pretty penny, but it's not like that's its only use.

You need a VIVO enabled graphics card really, it's the easiest way to do it and by far the cheapest hardware if your buy a new graphics card. You basically output using a cloned output from your computer to a recording device such as a video recorder or another computer supporting video in.

what are u using to record where u can specify what u want it to be? i could certain deal with 30 fps. but when i say my fps drops like a rock, it drops to like 3-7. or are u talking about specifing the fps rate in which the program records at?
