I am a very good modeler. I didn't use any tuts to learn. I just played around with RenX. I stared at the screen confused-idly and screwed around with stuff. Thats it really.

It's true, playing around with it really does help you learn. I used SomeRhino's Basic Terrain Tutorial and just redid terrain over and over and over again. It explains a few things like welding and extruding, which are pretty much some of the most important tools (Atleast to me). Look at that tutorial, try to follow it, and make 5 or 6 maps. Practice makes perfect.

The problem with that question is that a model can be whatever you want it to be. So the definition of a model is VERY general.

The only was I can tell you to be good at it is if you use 3dsmax or gmax and gain experience. Lots and lots of experience.
