When abandoning your vehicle... [message #-966207] Fri, 16 August 2002 11:03 Go to next message

When you're planning a rush attack against the enemy base, you enter the base and sometimes exit your vehicle to place c4 on the terminals inside the structure. This of course, leaves yur vehicle open to be stolen by the opposing team.

Here's a tactic that i use quite a lot - before you leave your base place 2 or 3 remote c4's on your vehicle. Then proceed with your attack.

This way you can assault the base, exit your vehicle with the knowledge that even if someone does take it, you can destroy it in an instant...

This also works if you are able to return to your vehicle and escape. Tho bear in mind that this c4 will still be on your vehicle and you have no way of getting rid of it, unless friendly fire is switched on.

You can of course, choose to laden your vehicle with proximity mines instead... works just as well, but is used much more than with remote c4.

3 remote mines? 2 is the limit...
Anyway, if you attack alone, putting remote and timed on your vehicle is a waste since once you do that you won't have enough to destroy the base... unless you carry a beacon.

proxies are better, if someone steals it the vehicle will take damage/blow up giving you more points for kill an 'enemy' vehicle.

When back you're base, you can get infinite refills to place more c4 on your vehicle. Get one last refill before you head out, and you've got enough c4... [Roll Eyes]

This tactic is most useful when you're making a one or two man rush at the very start of the game when you don't have the time to place proximity mines on your vehicle.

I always count on the vehicle hungry n00bs. I drive up in a Humvee, jump out, and some Nod guys see me and come running. Instead of killing me, they jump in the humvee and drive around like dorks. Meanwhile Im C4'ing the MCT. Next you hear them say "hahaha GDI sucks I stole your vehicle" *EVA: Hand of Nod Destroyed*.

As long as they are dumb and going to let me blow up their buildings, they can have my 350 credit humvee [Smile]

I have given Nod a "Trojan Horse" before...I put about 4 remote C4 on the BACK of a humvee, and drive it close to their base and abandon it...then I hide somewhere where I can watch. If the map has a tiberium field, I will park it right by the tiberium field. Then when the Nod guy gets in...I wait until he drives across the tiberium field and blow the humvee up. He now has to run across the tiberium field. He usually lives but with the addition of my taunting him, he is pretty humiliated [Smile]

So, basically you're wasting C4 and a Hummvee, just to laugh at your opponent? Or is it ment to demoralize him? I would just get more fanatic and try harder to blow the base up.

A reverse way to do this tactic is to steal THEIR vehicles if you have a chance [Wink] . On Volcano once I drove a humvee to the Nod base, to the back of the hand. I saw a stank out of the corner of my eye chasing me, but not attacking (guess he figured to run me over when I got out). I pop out of my humvee and run into the back door of the hand, hearing stealth missiles killing my humvee. I hear the door hiss open, and in charges who else, but the driver of the stank. I doubled back around, went out the door and stole the stank, and used it to tank the Hand of Nod with it.

It's always good to go for the c4'd MCT, but sometimes if you know they might kill you in there it's sometimes better to grab their vehicle if they have to get out of it to chase you inside.

LOL. Today, i was playing Volcano, and i am in GDI's base with a light tank. ANyway, i see this guy abandon his mammy right beside the WF, so i say, WTH, and swap my light for a mammy. GDI thought i was dumb becasuei abandoned it, but i blew it up, plus got an extra 500 points with a free mammy that cost some one $1500 [Big Grin]

BTW, i love giving enemies free chinooks that have c4 on them, hide in base, see them coming, BOOM [Big Grin]
