Friends having mp3 issues. It will not connect to a computer (plug
USB to computer but does not connect to the computer through it)And
he has lost quite a few songs and on occasion still loosing them.
The only reason i care is he said "if you can fix it ill let you
keep it." So im curios what the hell is happening and if its
repairable.

Probably wont last much longer even if repaired but i feel like learning a bit.

What kind of mp3 player is it?
How exactly is he trying to connect it to a computer?
I'm having a hard time understanding your post, sorry...

no problem im bad at describing things hes trying to connect the mp3 to the computer through a usb cord to add more music on it. It is not detected on the computer. the mp3 acts like it normally would when connected to a computer.

Sandisk Salsa Clip.. not familiar with that one.
Since I don't physically have it, I had to settle with googling around.
If your problem is connecting to the computer and putting mp3's on it, this guy's post might help:

Cool ill contact him when i get the chance. got it working ITS MINE!!!! also he put some files it could not play, explaining the "disappearing" songs.

So it's working? Awesome!

BTW, if a song's format isn't the right one for the player, you can probably convert it to the right one (mp3).

I have a converter i used for the psp so thats one less step.
