I know it's hard to believe, but there are new players showing up all the time. Welcome, and I hope you have as much fun as I do with this game! Here's some basic tips on how NOT to p.. er irritate your buddies in the game.

Rules 1 - 25: Never take a teammates tank unless it's offered to you.

Rule 26: Keep the radio chatter down and learn the keys you really want: it's very irritating to listen/read while someone is pushing all the quick chat buttons trying to find the one they really want. By then your message is lost anyway - no one is paying attention.

Tip: Look carefully at your target - if it's a Nod vehicle, does the "tag" show Nod also, or did one of your team appropriate it from the enemy. I see lots of guys wasting time shooting the tank I just stole, when they could be doing something useful, and I can't get out to repair my stolen goods while the new guys are hosing it with their weapons. If you aren't causing any damage - maybe it's because your teammate owns it.

Welcome again, and read lots of the forum messages, there's lots of great ideas here for new things to try.

This is the first positive newb thread I read

Heres another tip- use teamwork, don't run off thinking u can take the whole enemy by yourself, get your team to comminicate and think up a plan of action, and always be ready if u need to repair a structure

Oh, and dont steal your teamate's veichle. Its really ticks people off that you steal your own teamates tank.

Good Luck nOObs!(not in a bad way)

That brings up another good point, just to be clear (as I have never seen an "official" definition).

As I understand it...

Newbie: Anyone new to a game. Generally has a good attitude and respect for other players.

n00b: Someone who's ego/attitude is considerably overblown in relation to his/her actual skill. Spends more time bragging or dissing than in actual effective teamwork.

Is this close? Please post your comments.

Thanks

hmm.......
well i think newbie are ppl who jus start playing this game....

noobs however i think fall on 2 catalogue.
1) nwbies who think they are very good and come up with lotsa strange idea in which = faster to cause the team to lose.
2) oldie who onli shout at ppl and not contributing. eg: repair team mates or guard the base and even repair a damaged building..and onli call own team mate noods.. hmm... any idea who this may be
heehehhehehe

You both are correct. But the sad fact is thisn't Utopia and we'll always have people who will buck the system..Just make the best of what you have to work with...BTW I love the idiots who always say "get in the vehicle", run to the other base and get blown up...Re-spawn and do the exact same thing over and over again....Once is enough....

i got another rule-the other skin for raveshaws CANT BE HEALED IN TIBERIAN!!!!!

also-DONT EVER PRESS E IN YOUR ORCA/APACHE/TRANSPORT AT A HIGH ALTITUDE!!!!SHESH IVE SEEN MILLIONS OF PPLZ THINK THEY HAVE JET PACKS....

also-NEVER LEAVE A VEHICLE OUT IN THE OPEN unless you have alot of remote c4 on them, and is setting a trap(i.e. put 5 remote c4 on ur transport and leave ur transport out in the open, wait fer ur enemy to steal the transport, and when they load up, BOOM "ahhhhhh!!!" hehe fun for me

PLEASE, if you want to talk to your team only about something important, like you see a rush of tanks headed towards the base, please use F3 and NOT F2..........(you end up sending a message to the other team as well)

PLEASE, if you have to experiment with something like a Nuke or Ion Cannon, please ask how to use it before you set it off...........especially in games where friendly fire is enabled.........

when it comes to the radio keys I have an idea...

What i have done in using Microsoft Word I made a clear table of what to press to get each command and then printed it out and pined it on the wll next to me where I can see it... so bacically I know that to say "Take Cover" I press ALT and 7... not really a hard thing to do is it lol... I have played so many games there someone is trying to find the right command and they sent through so many that they left me wondering what they were trying to say.

I like to help Newbies but I hate n00bs... a n00b asked me once "how do you go down in an aircraft?" so I said E.... well he wanted to go down didn't he

My 2 cents..

Don't over mine!!! You only get 30 per team.

Don't try to steal an enemy tank that just rolled out of the weapons factory or airfield. There is a 30 second lockout (unless the person who bought it dies before he/she gets to it, or jumps in and back out again)

Here's a little tip on mining.
Place and space them strategically.
Don't just pile them up. If you space them out a little bit the person or persons will trigger one and then run into another and BOINK! If they're in a pile they'll all go off at once and the 2nd person gets in damage free. Also remeber Remote C-4 count towards the 30 mine limit. So don't pile up a bunch of remote c-4 and wait for the enemy to come so you can blow them up. If anything it only takes one or two remote c-4 at most to kill someone. Hope this helps someone new.
