Do not take it apart! I had and still have the same problem. I tracked the problem down to the logitech software. If you disable it, I bet you don't get the problem anymore. However, then you can't use any of the preconfigured buttons anymore. Update the software doesn't help.

My advise: get used to it. I find it an advantage rather than a nuisance. When it gets stuck when I'm in a tank, the tank will keep shooting without having to press with my finger. If it gets stuck while repairing, it's even better. It's only annoying when it happens when you're throwing c4, really Razz.

You don't need to uninstall setpoint, just close it and test.

Try to blow some air underneath the button, most of the time this will get rid of the dust or whatever is underneath the button (I don't think I want to know).

I have this problem, and mine is only a few days old from brand new. I don't think the mouse itself is defective, it only does it in renegade.

EDIT: I also have the G5 mouse from logitech.

I used to get the same problem with a £10 cheapo Logitech mouse years ago, and it was the Setpoint software causing it. Uninstalling Setpoint solved the problem, and since the mouse didn't have any fancy buttons to configure I had no need for it anyway.

I guess there is some sort of incompatibility between Setpoint and Renegade, as I never noticed the issue with any other game, but it may also affect other things I guess...

I also now use a Logitech G5, and I get this problem. I have never used the Setpoint software, yet it still happens. I didn't have this problem when I had my Logitech MX-1000, so maybe it's just something weird with the G5. However, with the MX-1000, I used the USB-to-PS2 adapter (but the G5 doesn't want to work at all when I use one of those), so maybe Renegade just doesn't like getting its mouse signal from a USB port. Anyone else having problems with a different Logitech USB-only mouse?

My current mouse is a Logitech MX400 connected via USB and works fine with Renegade using the default Vista drivers. I have never installed Logitech drivers or the Setpoint software on this machine, can't be bothered fixing all the problems it causes.

Not everything is as it appears
Untouchable
I have setpoint with my MXRevolution and have never had a problem (knock on wood).

If it is a physical problem SMALL amounts of rubbing alcohol will help clean it out. The key it to make sure it has had enough time to %100 dry before you give it power again.

But how so? the crack between the mouse frame and button is only wide enough to fit a edge of a peice of paper....

but im not sure I only notice it stick DURING RENEGADE :S

Setpoint interferes with normal mouse functionality regardless of whether you have special key functionality defined or not. Disable it and see if it makes a difference, you can easily turn it back on again afterwards.

I'm using a cheapo MS USB mouse and I get the same glitch some time.

Possibly to do with USB? (Can't see why, if Renegade gets its input from Windows Messages...)

Edit: Oh, this is really a tech support topic. Moved. Smile

Really I do not think it is caused by the mouse buttons "actually" sticking, it's probably caused by USB mice.
