get out of dumb cutscene
surrounded by more stealth hands and mutants than you can count plus a boss, petrova
how do you win in a lose-lose situation
please enlighten me

well, the way i did it, is kinda cheap, but in a situation like that, it doesn't matter how you get the job done, as long ans you get it done  anyways: run down the core (giving yourself covering fire as you run), all the way to the bottom, now, if you're lucky, only a couple of units will follow, maybe a visceroid and one of the stealth guys, and petrova. go right into the busted vent that you came out of, and then reload, then step back out into the open, and kill the units other than petrova, just ignore her untill you've killed everyone else (don't ignore her when she shoots tho) once everyone else is dead, you can focus on pertrova, and she does this psycho jumping-across-the-room thing, that can get really annoying, but just keep pumping rounds into her while dodging her attacks, she spends a couple of seconds recovering from her jump when she does, thats when you can hit her the hardest  then, once she's dead, just go back up to the top and kill the remaining two or three guys and rescue sydney then there's some more stuff you ahve to do, but i won't spoil it for you

i ended up building a campfire in the side room and waited for them to fight each other then i mopped it up and then proceded to shoot petrova in the head (it only took 25 shots from volt rifle)and the i did some easy stuff and I WON THE GAME ON THE HARD DIFFICULTY, WOO-HOO

i killed all the enemies inside the cells BEFORE the cutscene started make sure not to hit petrova or the cutscene will start. then when it was time to fight its was just me and her. i headed down to the bottom floor and i found a spot with very good cover and picked her off very slowly with a rocket launcher.

I hid behind the area where the heroine was strapped in and picked off Petrova's assistants then banged her in the skull with a few rounds from my trusty laser....eheh...

Even though u already beat it, heres wat I did. YOu can kill the mutants when their in the little cell thingies. Just use a portable ION cannon and shoot them, before you go to the room with Petrova.

As soon as the cut scene ended i leaped to the very bottom and hid under the stairs...I pulled out my PIC and waited. Petrova was one level up and i just poked my head around and gave her 3 ion blasts to the head and i was all good after that.
