O.k peeps....here's a quick one!

I have been playing for just a few days now but am thoroughly enjoying the game! I am trying to decide as to whether it is better than Half-Life but honestly can't tell!
It has plus sides over HL but also falls at certain points.
For example, in Half-life, the enemies are VERY clever! In Ren, they are challenging but are they clever???

So, to help me decide which is better, I want to know what parts you feel are the games BEST points and it's Worst points also!
For me, the best points are the vehicles, the idea of the officers as kinda 'spawn' links and the Nuclear/Ion cannon beacons...!
The downers for me are the AI scriptings, loading times and lack of an on-screen map!

So, I know it's not a strategic post, but heck, I feel the lack of AI signifies a strategic point huh?!

half-life doesn't suck, if it did it wouldn't have the most people playing it. (this includes mods)

Half-life is fun. But I hate it because it crashes on me alot. (blue screens of death for the most part)

I have seen gamers asking about game cheats, if there is or will be. Of course many gamers do not use them. I think that is great. Then again there is that gamer who has problems playing and gets very upset, slams the mouse, hits the key board. If a cheat helps this gamer enjoy the game then great, use it and enjoy. All you gamers who feel that this is wrong, keep it to yourself. Lets help those by supporting them not putting them down. This only applies to the single player game and cheats should never be used in multiplayer.

In reply to Andee54, I agree completely!
I have played loads of games which I have wished I had cheats for as they were so darned frustrating!
I played through Baldurs Gate I/II without cheats and then again with...and in all honesty enjoyed it just as much the second time as I didn't have to worry so much about money etc and just concentrated on the most important aspect of the game...FUN!
Many FPSs' have a limit on ammo you can find, this game being one of them, and I for one sometimes wish I had a little more sniper ammo (for instance) and I consider myself a darned good shot! So for those out there who maybe are new to FPSs' or just need a little more firepower/health, I think anyone who has access to cheats for the single player mode should stop *****in' and just help those people out.
After all, isn't this a Tactics & strategy forum or a kiddies school playground? We're not here to call names but to share info and help those who are having problems!!

This may be true. The main point I wish to make is, Please don't put down those who need help and enjoy gaming. It may be the only release in lifes' preasures they have. I believe most games are sold to the single player type.

None of the C&C games ever had cheats
Trainers were 3rd party programs

I guess that is true, but then again this C&C is the first based on both single and multi player.

that's kinda true. All cheats are usually emplanted into the game by devolupers.

someone that cheats uses Hacks/Trainers.

Multiplayer hackscheats are lame, nothing but game ruiners they are, and sp cheats/hacks/trainers souldn't be used unless you complete the game without cheats on the hardest settings.

and also thats what happens
trainers made for single player are eventually converted to online play and it ruins it completely like the maphack in ra2 where it removed the shroud completely

the thing about single player cheats is that they are already coded into the game so a trainer maker could use that same code to turn it into an online trainer

The only westwood game with cheats programmed into it that I can think of it NOX. No othre Westwood game that I can think of would have any cheats programmed into it.

There is no way he opened the always.dat file (over 500mg)with word or note pad. So I haven't a clue where he got his info.

Well I don't care where he got the info from, I was just commenting on what Devinoch said about them being removed. There are eastereggs, but they are not allowed in the ladder games, probably will be in non-laddered for entertainment sake, and even then we'd have to wait for WW to release them, but I beleive I read somewhere that they were going to be released eventually.

I just hope it doesn't get as bad as in Counter-Strike. When servers wanted to scan my entire drive before I could join the games was when I uninstalled it. That killed it for me.

Everyone who is checking this post regularly......here's a little info for you...
I have checked a previous cheat message and it said the cheats were hidden C:Westwood/Renegade/Data and open 'always.dat' with notepad.

Many people have questioned this as the file is 500Mb+ so doesn't open. You CAN open the 'always.dbs' with notepad and if you 'Edit>Find for 'cheats' you'll find all kinds of cheats listed there (apparently there is a 'cheats' option under 'controls' on the options menu!).
I cannot get them to work, but you guys can try!!
