Ok, it is hard to help when we don't know the problem. "An error" is too general. Show us what the error is. Type what it says, take a screen shot.

Make sure you do this:
http://www.renhelp.net/?mod=Content&action=view&id=Getting+Started

Install the regular tools and replace the old Leveledit.exe with this one:

http://www.renhelp.net/downloads/LevelEdit_Jonwil.zip

On any/all shortcuts to leveledit:

Disable Visual Themes
Disable Advance Text Services
Enable Windows XP Sp2 compatibility - for vista users

(not sure if the first two are on vista but thats how we fix it on xp.)

EDIT: updated the getting started page for leveledit crash.

I said replace the old file with this new one. You cant just run it off of your desktop.
