Hi there,

I was running a Win32 Dedicated server. But now I have deleted win xp and installed Linux Fedora core.

I think I have to use LFDS RH 8.0. No i read the topic about xwisp. But I MUST have the latest scripts.so.

Now i have some questions about the Dedicated server and i hope U can help me.

1. I cant find the 'old' scripts.so. Where is it located?
2. What files do I need to get my server up to date ( script.so brenbot, server.dat bhs etc etc) I mean the version. And maybe u can tell where to find them.
3. I read the topic on xwisp. Nice work I didn't feel like it to run a Gayspy server. Smile
4. What about renrem. I dont have to use it anymore ??
5. I want to use Renguard and brenbot again please telle me if the working is the same as Win32.

I hope u can help me. Would kill some time.

Any way thanks

Greetings Rene

The scripts are coded into the renegade_server binary. There is no scripts.so with the original LFDS from Westwood.
The scripts.so was made by jonwil. And we need a patch in order to load the scripts into the LFDS.

So you want a Linux server with XWIS (WOL) support.
My suggestion is to install SSCP2, latest scripts and xwisp.
LFDS RH8: ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/renegade/dedicatedserver/linux-be ta/Renegade_1037b_BETA_RH8-0.tar.gz (ungzip, untar)
sscp2: http://download.renguard.com/cp2/sscp2all.run (it is a installer that runs on linux) (sscp2 includes the brenbot and some fix/patch for the LFDS)
latest scripts: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=51947& amp;package_id=56768
xwisp: http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=22047 1 (note that it is a beta release, and it have many bugs, you have to read all replies and fix the bugs and typo brefore it can run)

There is no renrem, with xwisp, it have provide an telnet interface for sending commands(not for getting output :/ )
It is better to input console commands directly into the shell

ya, brenbot linux works like the brenbot win32.

For the xwisp and brenbot issue, you better ask blazer.
For the scripts.so and sscp2, you may contact jonwil.
Anyway I'm not an expert on it Wink

Good luck! Big Ups

Thanks blazer for the xwisp! My dream comes true!
<Ghostshaw> duh

Thanx both,

For the explaining and the offer. I will try it out myself first and i need help (don't wurry i need:) ) i will come back to you.

I am also making a new map i want to use for it. Thats i bit diferent. I am happy that gmax imports autocad and that autocad 2007 has a 3D engine inside.

Only the renegade editor is very slow. Sad

But maybe i have configure something Smile

Anyway thanks till now
