I have played this game for quite long time and I have seen many people throw remote C4 much furher than me while standing still. Now I wonder how are they doing this? I tried it, but I just don't know how to do it. If I sound like a noob, I will tell you this: I am sure that even after playing this game since beta, many people can still find new things that they did not know were possible.

They are looking almost strait up. Here is a practice drill for you. Anyone who has tried to blow the obelisk at city knows to get back in the corner to the left side of the door (as you walk into) to avoid shelling. I personally, like to throw my prox in front of the MCT, and PT. This is tricky, I have to look so far up, that I can't see if a player walks in. That's about as far as I can throw one, level ground, standing still.
correction, looking @ a 45 (wondering why a keyboard in 2006 doesn't have a degree symbol) angle yielded best results.
