If you are having any problems installing Core Patch 1 (e.g. always.dbs is disappearing, downloader starts but doesnt download anything etc), I need to know about it so I can find out why and hopefully fix it

Also, if you get any errors from the CP1 installer (e.g. if the language installer spits out an error), MAKE A NOTE OF IT (a screenshot of the error would be nice but make sure to move any message box out of the way of the CP1 downloader window so I can see what it says underneath)

thats not "core patch 1".
Thats just some scripts related stuff.
"core patch 1" is a LOT more than that (maps for example)

omg john im glad i found u theres a HUGE problem with Core patch 1 with lag and Crashing WoL has crashed an lagged liek never before and i have had this game since it came out and it didnt start doing this til i downloaded the cp1 and i dont like the text font either plz fix this  i cant even play WoL cuz of cp1

I had the same problem too but jw fixed it for me. To do that go to your ren folder and delete scripts.dll and rename scriptsx.dl to scripts.dll
It might work for you

Please no one laughs but everything is running fine with renguard (thanks for your work!) except when I try to DL the core patch 1 because the package is too big for my modest 64 RNIS connection So, my resquest is simple: would you be kind enough to get separate smaller packages for the guyz like me to get the core patch 1 and the other stuff included? (I think in particular of the maps which I never could DL but, at the same time, make impossible to appreciate your work at its just value :rolleyes:

Since I cannot edit nor supress my precedent post...Well guyz, this morning I was very happy to see following things:
1) As I tried once more to DL the CP1, it had preserved all of the precedent DL so that it was able to make the DL to the end
2) CP1 was successfully installed und now successfully running
CU on Ren servers :twisted:

i cant get it to work. i just installed ren today. i got rengaurd and checked out a few sites (like http://www.thekoss.com) and they say wol is down. i went on europe servers and there was like 3 servers up... i got xwis but that kept just 3 servers, but with a ping of 0 instead of 200+ with wol. ( i have broadband). i had my pc wiped 2 days ago.
i came here but rengaurd insists on the 1.0 cp being downloaded. 4 times now, it downloads, gets to installing and gives an error message. it says a file is missing, but it does not specify. it then proceeds to freeze my computer, so i cannot get a screenshot, and theres not much to download as it isn't specific.
i am currently downloading standalone_cp1.zip from the post a few posts above this one.
please help me someone!

this is how they come up when i click in at the renegade shortcut to play the game after download the patch. big screen and the bottom is said option or quit ad small screen "Renguard" pop up with the message is Failed to recieve lis of available master servers. Check your internet connection. so any things i can do to get this working right? Please let me know soon.

I got a very irritating problem, when I host my 14 players AOW server default - just downloaded without bots/scripts, it runs fine.
When I install SS-CP1.3, it crashes after 3 or 4 minutes (restarts).. nightma12 seems to have same problem, aswell as 2 others who I know and try to get SS-CP1 installed.
Any idea's how come?

I have a german version but scripts are in english since I have dl maps from moonlightshakers but voices are still german, if this can help you...

If you experience problems with renegade (e.g. renegade wont start, always.dbs missing, wrong language), make a note of what this program says and report it to Blackhand Studios.
Language ID = 0
English Detected
Removing old always.dbs
Removing new german always.dbs
Removing new french always.dbs
Renaming new english always.dbs
Now renaming scriptsx.dll to scripts.dll
error 17
