Well other than locating a skin I'm missing the auto-update completed from 1.01 to 1.02 fine today. One the first attempt I got my first game.exe caused an IPF, I just re-ran it, and was informed an update would take place, click OK, then while waiting for the ticker bar, it took about a minute. I was patient, and the update came through, and was prompted to create a new firewall rule from NIS, which I did, to permit.
I personally not had a serious issue yet, hitch had trouble with the update, but I removed 1.01 and installed 1.02 on his and it works fine for him again. He to was prompted to create a new firewall rule for game.exe, which he did to permit.
