I was on a mac only once, and I found a button to format the hard drive right in the menu at the top... I'm hoping thats not true for all mac's Confused

I once was on a windows pc, (wait I'm almost all the time behind a windows pc). On the desktop there was a link to the harddisk. when you pressed your left mouse you could navigate around the HD. But when you used the right mouse button there came al these evil extra options like formating the HD.

So this is actually not only a mac thing, but when you press buttons like these you will see you first have to go trough a lot of security checks before you can actually start.

Anyways I'm more of a linux guy. I'm doing a lot of programming work, and it's easy with linux to set up ftp connections and ssh connections.

I thought the only way to format a HD was to go into MS-DOS and type the 'fdisk' command. Heh, well thats how I've always done it Razz

I still have a laptop that has windows 3.11 on it. It's a Toshiba T4400C. I unearthed it when I was cleaning the basement one day. The amazing thing is, it still runs great, and the battery still works. The only thing that was wrong with it was that the clock read 1996 Confused
