Poor FPS issue with Win2K [message #52832]

is your video card agp? if so, you may have to download some new chipset drivers from AMD since sometimes AGP isn't supported by the driver that came with your computer. look here: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_2336,00.html

EDIT: oh yeah, make sure you have the latest version of directx, its 9.0b i think, get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

if you dont know which version you have, check by clicking run in your start menu and typing dxdiag, which brings up the diagnostic utility.

EDIT2: also make sure you have the latest vid card drivers Very Happy

Well, I didn't have much success. I installed the new Video drivers from the voodoofiles site without any difficulty, but then Renegade didn't work. Everytime the screen went dark to start Renegade, I would get a Game.exe error and Windows shut down the program. I then got DirectX 9.1b from the microsoft website and that didn't help.

I ended up reinstalling my orgional Video drivers to get Renegade working again, abit at a lower FPS than Win98SE. Such is life I guess.
