The server listings not working for some of you will be fixed in the next release. The same goes for those "something bad happened" messages.
If you get a BSOD, it is likely not Renegade/TT that is causing, but some driver. With good drivers, it should be impossible for Renegade/TT to trigger a BSOD. Try updating your graphics drivers.
I'm not sure about the orca thing; does it always happen when you enter one, on any server/map?
I think those doppelgangers/ghosts appear on pre-4.0 servers only; I'm not sure why they are though. We still need to investigate this.
You probably have the .mix versions of the maps installed. In that case, it is normal for the downloader to redownload the maps (TT stores them differently). It should not attempt to load before downloading though, nor should it crash. Can you send the crashdump (recentmost few .dmp files in My Documents/Renegade/Client/Debug), and if possible make a video of the load-before-download behavior for me to see exactly what's happening?
The anticheat message was probably caused by an improperly configured server. It is unfortunately quite easy for a server owner to misconfigure something so that those messages show up.
