Sounds like the basic n00b filled team -- sorry you had to go through this !
I've been in this situation several times but much like you I was the MVP for the team so no skin off my back !!

Check this screenie for a perfect example. I got 1st on my team and all I didnt was repair & defend (infi defend only).
