Sorry to bump this, but the exact same thing happened to me..

I reinstalled Rene with RG and it worked fine (I was shocked as well) Then I saw the command prompt about RG updating, it restarted then said:

[14:56] Trying to connect to server #1...
[14:56] Trying to connect to server #1...Failed!
[14:56] Trying to connect to server #2...Failed!
[14:56] Trying to connect to server #3...

etc.
