Derp derp. It had bad compatibility with DOS programs and games. So does XP. I still get the occasional problem getting Civilization 2 to run on my XP machine without the use of an ISO. What your basically complaining about is "Things that aren't meant to run on this OS aren't running!"

This is an argument against all updating. Most people had the same problem with Office 2007. This isn't the program's fault, but the users. There's an unrealistic expectation of "I know how to use X, so it should be the same on Y", when there's no reason to believe it's such. You paid for something new.

Yeah, I had the same problem when I tried to put XP on a P2, 233 MHz machine way back when, and I have the same problem when trying to play NWN2 on my current machine. It helps if your machine meets the minimal requirements of what you're running.

I never bought Vista myself, but I used it on friend's computers, family member computers, and public computers. I always had issues trying to figure out simple tasks. It was a nightmare. It made using the computer so much harder than it had to be. I'm the guy in my family that people go to for computer assistance. But, every time someone had a problem with Vista, I could not fix it.. I had to figure out a compromise. And that's after hours of fiddling.

Perhaps you're not as proficient as you think you are. L2Computer.

This. Vista had a few nice parts to it, but it was by no means a casual computer.

Unless you count the Fisher Price machines that Apple is marketing as computers, there is no such thing as a "casual computer".

Never experienced any. In fact, games I couldn't run on my XP machine (Halo 2, NWN2, Spore) I managed to get working on Vista.
