Firstly it's not 'my' pointsfix. Secondly this is a compromise over the original position, which was to not allow pointsbug servers to be laddered at all.

The ladder weighting system is, I think, a good idea. Some server settings are clearly more strategic than others; do you not agree that a server with 0 start credits is more strategic than one with 9999 start credits? So we came up with a weighting system. eg if donate is on then that's -20%, another -10% if weapon drops are on, etc. Pointsfix makes the game more strategic in so many ways (even most of the anti-pointsfix crowd have conceded this) so what's wrong with giving that a positive weight on the ladder?

Everyone generally agreed that the weighting system itself was a good idea, but they couldn't stand the idea of the pointsfix being one of the criteria, even though the very same people (for the most part) had already conceded that the pointsfix is fairer and more strategic than the pointsbug.

No, I was trying to make the official ladder as fair as possible, to make it actually worth something.

And don't go saying simpee and I are "both as bad as the other". I'm absolutely fine with a community choosing not to use the pointsfix. Really, I am. Simpee has said many times that I should not be allowed to use the pointsfix in my community. Not only that but when I wanted to use the pointsfix first time around, he was part of a campaign of lies and manipulation and sabotage to subvert the admin's decision. No, don't go saying we're both as bad as each other.
