Yeah at the full 5400RPM it is very loud but it dies cool it down quite good. When i'm typing like now and not using the CPU a lot i turn it down to around 40-45% speed. But If I leave my PC doing nothing i could probably turn it down to it's lowest setting where you can't hardly hear it. ut i just press the power button on my PC to send it into standby so i hardly use the very low setting. But it is useful when you don't want the full drone of the fan when your typing or doing some work.
