I think I would trade weed for alcohol. Not that I partake in either activity but if people are going to put substances into their body to make them even more stupid, it might as well turn them into morons drooling on themselves rather than morons who fight, puke all over themselves, and drive cars recklessly.

But then one could make the reverse arguement; "Why is alchohol illegal when it's just as safe as weed?", etc etc. It's either both or neither.

Statistically speaking, alchohol has destroyed WAY more lives than it has weed.

Pot just makes you stupid and really calm pretty much, wheras alchohol just makes you an asshole. Both distort your senses a bit, but alchohol you tend to not notice as much, so you do stupid things more.

I'd say that's more cultural or personal than any inherent quality of alcohol.

As in the acting like an asshole and not noticing thing? Not really, it's pretty much widely acknowledged that alchohol makes you an asshole and you don't know until awhile after. Also, hangovers.
