If you're using any x64 version of Vista then RG won't work at all.
Go to "Start" --> Control Panel --> Select "Classic View" from the left hand side, then go to "System". It will say, under the heading system, System Type: and then either "32-bit operating system", or "64-bit operating system". If it's the second one, RG won't work at all, uninstall it and play without it.
