I suppose you can imagine it like a car engine and speed. You don't need much torque to jump from 10mph to 20mph, but from 100mph to 110mph you need a whole lot more.

and there is a bunch of reasons why overclocking is a bad idea, if you don't know what you're doing then you will end up with a fried processor.
