I'm assuming that had troop continued to actually contribute something positive to the forums (even amidst his negative contributions), he probably wouldn't have been banned. At least, not permanently.

Agreed, if your going to help people then people can deal with your stupidity, but once you quit helping people get annoyed and see you as a waist of bandwidth.
