CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are handy to use with HTML so if you know how to write style sheets and use them with html documents it can be handy. CSS is also used with PHP as well so most of the things you learn in HTML can help you with other web languages.
http://www.w3schools.com is an excellent ite for learning HTML and other web things.
