I recently installed the 1.03 rev.2 patch for the first decade from http://www.nathancnc.webs.com/, which is advertised by EA. Unfortunately, when I install Renguard, and run Renegade, I encounter the error "Error creating hash of serial, try re-installing Renegade".

I have tried using the fix mentioned in another topic, and it works with TFD 1.02, there has been no success with this version.

Any theories as how to fix the problem?

as the patch also explains...''Using the Patch is at your own risk''

but ok,,.. first you need to be sure CP2 is installed, if not then install it again (search-forum).
and then make sure you run the patch, some data will be altered in the data folder so make sure you make a backup, when patch is completed try starting the game again. If for what reason it isnt working the copy your data folder backup back to the current folder and start game again.
and if that doesnt work then please follow the steps ''how to install and update renegade''
