it is larger than 8800gt thats for sure, i had the 8800 before and it was a piece of garbage, so i bought a 4870 to replace it after the replacement for my 8800 from evga turned up bad aswell.

in any case the 4870 was about 3/4 of an inch longer and about 1/2 inch wider.

so even if you do manage to fit in into a mid tower case the second one would definitely not get adequate airflow through it and thats provided you can even fit the second one.

correct me if im wrong but the 4870x2 is essentially two cards in one, so there is basically no chance you can fit two of those into a mid size tower... well atleast not without doing some messing around with the card or the tower. by mid tower i mean something around the size of sonata 3 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024
