I'd rather have a rifle chambered for .308 Winchester, 7.62 NATO or .30-06 Springfield. There are plenty of uses for a .50, but the weapon is so huge, the ammo is so heavy and the recoil so powerful that it just isn't practical except in very specific situations. Anything in the .30 Cal range will still put down anything you'll ever encounter, but you won't get a hernia trying to carry it and ammo around without help.

Oh, and the terms you wanted were "Ramjet" and "Caliber." Wink
