Kane's Wrath takes place through 3 periods of time. The beginning of the game takes place before C&C3, just after Tiberian Sun.

The middle of the game takes place during C&C3, sharing some events and another perspective on what was really happening.

The end of Kane's Wrath takes place after the events of C&C3, and that leads up the the story in Tiberium. (I think)

CABAL was like Nod's EVA in Tiberian Sun. In Firestorm he tried to destroy all humanity and without leadership from Kane, Nod teamed up with GDI (That's why in Kane's Wrath you are supposed to kill those members of Nod's inner circle)
