No. If the serial changer didn't work, then only a full install can help you. the time you wasted on trying to solve this the hard way, you could've gone out to solve it the easy way. Heck, if you order it from e-bay or amazon or something, then you don't even need to go out to buy the game!
The serial they'll provide you might not be valid but you got one anyway, so you don't care.
