Renalpha, this is totally out of place in a tech support forum. Warning +1.
To topic starter, it's hard to comprehend what you write. You're Australian, so I suppose English is your mother tongue?
If I'm right, you deleted the ren folder instead of using the uninstall program. You will need to clean out your registry manually or by using a program like registry cleaner. I can't check the exact registry lines here at the moment as ren isn't installed on this computer.
I'm not sure if you're saying you have or don't have the disc. I think you have the iso and u load the image with a program like daemon tools? If so, you could probably also simply explore the disc and run setup.exe. This way you should be able to force the installer to run and then you can reinstall in a different directory.
I'd go for the registry cleaner and then retry installing. I hope this helps you.
